Default Power mirror problems

My power windows won't adjust with the controls on the driver's door, however, if I change the auto presets for drivers 1 and 2 the mirrors move, so I know the motors in the mirrors are still good. Do I need a new switch module or do I need a new drivers door module? Any way to tell precisely which parts need replaced?

Without knowing what type of vehicle you have, I would say the switchpack is bad.
The fact that the mirrors move by way of memory settings, says the module and the
mirror motors are good. That would only leave the switch or the wiring from the switch.
I would put the switch in it. Remember to disconnect battery when replacing it and programme windows
after work is done.
good luck

Oops I thought I had put my signature on there. It's a 2000 S-type. Ok, so since they move I can pretty much deduce that the door module is good. I think I say a switch module on ebay a few days ago.

Well if it is the right switchpack then sounds ok. You need to find out why it was taken out in the first place.

Yes on the S-Type you have to remove the rubber mat inside the door handle. You will see 2 phillips head screws.
Remove these and then grab the top of the door panel with a kung fu grip and yank it off. The door handle cover will come with it, but when you put door panel back on you need to put cover on last. Be careful as they are fragile.
You will probably have to replace door fastener clips also.
The switch is help on with 20torx screws. 3 I think. It has been a while since I have been there.

Good luck.
