My 2001 s type 3.0 V6 has developed a leak which appears on the ground , nearside just around the front wheel. Any ideas ?

Worn PS hose, worn PS pump or seal at the PS pump.

The first few years of the s type were terrible reliability wide and that is one of the problems.try the dealership or check the hose and if you find the leak in that ducktape it until a replacement can arive

Had a leak in my Lincoln LS in the same area and the P/S pressure sender was leaking. Much cheaper than a hose.

So get it up in the air and take a look. You won't know until you do.
