So, as of Jan 1, 2009, it is illegal to use your cell phone while driving here. So, I wanted to put bluetooth in. I researched and called Jag Canada and North America and got told that my car is in no way prewired for anything. So I got the Jag OEM bluetooth kit that is for a non-prewired car and installed it myself. So as I'm taking my car apart, I noticed that the prewire for the bluetooth module under the center armrest consol was there. So after I finished installing the kit, I called Jag again and they said that that connection may be there but there is no possiblity of the others being there. Anyway, I kind of accepted that but the other day I got curious, so I went into the garage and took out the stack and checked to see what I could find. Well, guess what, not only was the phone and voice prewire there, but there were also both d2b optic links for the fiber optics there, labelled for phone and voice and just closed off with a loop. What is up with that? I know the vin cutoff for prewire is M89XXXX and my vin is M67XXXX. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how this might happen since I am well before the cutoff and that I also have the fiber optics there as well?!?!?! Did I just end up getting one of those cars that for some reason came ready for everything? Needless to say I just got a voice module and the phone setup to install. I'm starting to wonder if I look hard enough I might have the Nav connections in there somewhere too!!!!
