Default 2001 S-Type

Same thing happening to me. Car sat for about 90 days, now no start, changed the fuel filter, and the battery. All is well.

Try changing the fuel filter first - when doing so if you see any silt or dark fuel (blackish brown) or any material coming out of the fuel filter - odds are that your fuel pump burnt out. This is a common issue, especially when sitting for a while. You can also check the inertia switch under the panel - drivers side - black unit with red button - ensure that is pushed in. Good Luck

Thanks We will do try this today! Do you recommend that IF the fuel pump went out that we just replace the both of them as opposed to one? They are both originals from 2001 when the car was built.

When I finally figured my main fuel pump burnt out in my 2000 S Type (Ugh!) I decided to change out both pumps - it will cost you more initially but well worth it in the end - best to get them both changed in one shot.
