Default Problem Removing Fuel Pump from Tank

I am having trouble taking out the fuel pump.

I have the wiring plug and the fuel lines disconnected, and the fuel pump cap off.

Is the pump meant to come straight up and out or, is there another step in detaching it from the tank? I do not want to force it out and damage it. As I only want to replace the pump motor and need the housing and other hardware in good order. It seems solidly attached to the tank.

Thank you for your help with my fuel pump removal.

What is the MY and other vehicle details?

There are several threads concerning removal and installation of the fuel pump(s) if you use the search function. Depending on the MY, the tools needed are different.

The information for my car is in my signature line. However, it does not seem to be showing. I will look into this today.

My car is a Jaguar S Type 1999 V6.
