Run the car at fast idle - say about 1500rpm, with the heating set to max and the expansion tank cap off, for 5 minutes.
That's the main part of the procedure as I recall. There is a bleed valve on one of the cross pipes - large plastic crosshead screw, you're supposed to slack it off, add coolant till it flows out of the bleed, close the bleed and carry out the above. Many people report little or no effect with the bleed valve, so I'd just fill the expansion tank to halfway, do the above while watching the level and topping up as required.

The only bleeder valve/screw that I am aware of is on the coolant expansion tank.
