Default Question about the heater

Yes, I looked in the manual.

When using the heater is the A/C light supposed to be on? This is the first car I've had that when set on auto the A/C lights up when in heat mode.

I've never seen a car that doesn't work that way (?)

This is the first modern car I've had that does it that way. 84, 88, 01 Corvettes, Dodge Nitro, Magnum and Ram all had auto climate and none had the A/C come on.

Must be a Ford/Lincoln/Nissan/Toyota/Jaguar thing then.

Be aware that it's just the light that comes on. The actual engagement of the compressor is unrelated and under the control of the 'auto' button.

The compressor 'ON' will dehumidify the air and lessen the chance of fogging the COLD windscreen.

+1 to motorcarman. The A/C controls interior humidity, just like A/C at home. Keeps the interior comfortably dry and windscreen clear.

If you find it annoying you can always shut the A/C off.

I thought it was on to keep the compressor lubricated properly during winter season (by engaging it now and again)

I'm still learning how to use the climate control in the Jag. My Jeep had one button and a few knobs. This new one will take a little getting used to lol..

1) press auto

2) use the red and blue arrow keys to select the temperature you like best

3) invite your passenger to follow step 2) on their side of the car.

4) temporarily use front and or rear defrost as required

That's about it..............................
