Good question, the TSB refers to the V6 specifically and one of the techs, maybe Motorcarman, said at one time that it did not apply to V8s, however, if you look at this thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...reasure-54416/ post #20 you will see Rick's original compressor and the V8 unit he was sent by mistake, they both have the valve or appear to. Read further and you will see the valve dismantled.
Might be worth pursuing.

Strange thing though, if you access to the AllData version of this TSB it states the S type and the X whereas the Jaguar one only references the X-type, maybe they just wanted us to replace the whole compressor

The Jaguar one I have DOES include the S-Type. But just the V6 (which is likely a mistake).

Dated 7 Jan 2010. GTR unique # looks to be 413298 JTB00183NAS1

its funny because my Indy Jag mechanic told me the same thing that I'll sooner or later have to replace out my a/c compressor. Don't think he knew about this easy fix

Post #38 with the pics of the Opened up Valve Spring and Valve was terrific on Ricks thread.
