Default r rotors, to cut or not????

i put on new rotors and pads 14 months ago and the car has sat and wasnt moved at all, outside in the weather. now when i brake there is a slight shimmy in the steering wheel, these brakes only have 3000 miles on since new.... do you think i can get away with cutting the front rotors and putting on new pads to correct this? i sure dont want to spend alot cause i did this just recently... ive driven the car hard and there shouldnt be brake residu on rotors as i did a few hard stops today... also am i correct as it must be the front if it causes steering wheel shimmmy on application of brakes at 30mph & above???

Do not 'cut' the rotrs, take a rotary sanding disk to the surface and remove whatever buildup is causing the shimmy. Hard braking won't remove it.

Jaguar is very clear about the STR rotors. Replace only! No cutting.

Now on my 2005 STR I got mad and finally said screw it and did what I always do to fix brake shimmy problems. I had the rotors cut. That was almost 50K miles ago and the car still stops without any shimmy.

Do what you want but that's my solution.

I'm going to ditch the EBC red's after one season, and switch akebono's, the red's are dusting like crazy,

I'm going to have the rotors turned for sure, they only have 9,000 miles on the rotors and pads, so I don't imagine any issue with cutting them,

The issue you have with leaving outside sitting for a period is this. The rotors rust everywhere but where the pads are. Now when you brake the rusty areas are gone and as a result thinner than the non rusty areas where the pads sat. Those areas are now high spots. You need a very slight cut to correct and make the surfaces parallel again. This is not warpage but most often felt like a grab, release, grab, release when braking
