Default Radiator Removal Information

Does anyone have information at hand on radiator removal.

My JTIS is not working for some reason. Perhaps an exploded diagram.

This would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Paul

It's a (bitter ex-wife!) Not sure what/if any differences between your '99 and the two '03 and sub facelift models I've done, are....but you'll probably need a flexible const. tension clamp tool, a boatload of patience, and a mouthguard to protect your teeth whilst gritting them. I "tweaked" the a/c lines on the left hand side "slightly" to get old out and new in. You have to pick it up on the right side first, and kind of "work" the left side hose nipple out from under the a/c lines. Change the DCCV while you are at it. New radiators are pricey for the automatic - none of the "$100-$200 ones on the web have the integral xmsn cooler.

"Search" will find you a few details here in the forum, but I don't recall a full-blown how-to with pics.

According to JTIS you need to disconnect the AC lines on the early cars.

Hi Aholbro1
Thank you for the reply.

I read your earlier post and your information was the best that I could find out there. The practical help should get me through including the needed grimace and mouth guard that I'm sure will come out with some added swearing before the job is done.

Thanks Norri
The pdf has clarified a few things. But it is almost like Jaguar tried to hide the radiator.

I remember when removing a radiator from a car was a matter of removing four bolts and two hoses and you could get at them. But I don't know if these were the good old days when I think of the old cars I was working on.

Forgot to mention: pay close attention to all the clips and protrusions molded into the side-tanks on your replacement

They are fragile in shipping yet very important in functionality
