Radio Code

Radio Code
Hi ... I have seen there are so many threads on this theme (and I have read them all) ...
I made the mistake of using the NRMA (Australian AA/RAC) put a new battery in the car ... they didn't do the usual maintain power thing or ask if I had a radio code (which I don't) ... so that explains my predicament..
I assume that the radio is not original / has been replaced hence the VIN does not match the required code.
The local Jaguar dealer (Northern Beaches Jaguar) could only provide a code based on the VIN ... they recommended contacting a specialist mechanic ... who in turn recommended someone else .. I have contacted 5 -6 companies ... but I am still no closer ...
I tried downloading the database mentioned on another post - but it has been deleted (repost?).
My car is too old for the EJECT & PTY trick.
The tales recounted on this forum of the online solutions that take your money but don't work - sounds like somewhere not to go ...
My wife refuses to use the car without a radio
Any ideas welcome and so much appreciated ... I want to get out of driving just some time
Many thanks

It's a Ford Europe 9000 radio, once you have the serial number the code can be determined, like from here http://www.pumapeople.com/decode.php
You can get the serial number from the radio without removing it.
Entering the code this way
