Default Really neat add on accessory for cheap!

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this endorsement, but man was I impressed.

I decided to pick up this hand made, custom shift knob. WOW! is it ever nice. The price is right as well. I'll post a picture of it installed if anyone wants.... It was real easy. Un-thread the old knob. Loosen the retaining nut at the base. Thread on the new knob and adjust the retaining nut so the emblem is in the right place. 5 minutes!

Here is a link to the listing...
Sorry but I bought the only one with that emblem...

...and something like that has been added to my wish list that I keep for my car. I like the look of this one as I have the aluminium trim........

no rules broken, especially since it says jaguar... I like my plain burl wood know, as its low key.

OK, I want to see a cabin view with your new addition.

I like it, almost like a throw back, blast from the past. Wouldnt look good in the STR but I look forward to seeing some interior pics...

Delta: Now that might look good in the STR, what site is that off of?

Ebay UK and type in Jaguar gear knob. It is a Nardi gear knob, the present bid is £20 and there are 2 days left on the auction. I'm not going to be bidding, so go for it if you want to.

Actually the wood knobs look great in the STR. I have one in mine that I made myself and I get compliments all the time! It has a much warmer look than stock.

Default Finally, the pictures

So here are pictures of the shift knob mounted. I picked this one because of the retro look of the emblem. I think it goes with the retro look of the S. I love the look and feel. So much better than the stock knob. I found the stock one bland. It didn't show a nice graining like this one does.

The Nardi shifter is WAY more than that here in the USA. Delta, I would go for it if bidding doesn't go up.

That shifter is US $136.25 on Jaguarparts.com, I have seen them on E-Bay for about $80. At current conversions that would be 50 to 86 pounds.

I'll keep an eye on that auction Jeff, but I have just repaired my present knob, as shown in the 'Watch me use a leather repair kit' thread. So I dont want to change it!

It's only slightly larger. I think the fact that it is round makes it look like it is bigger. But then again, I am 6'1" and 220lbs.

Default A Happy Suprise...

So, I was very impressed with the e-bay seller that sold me the shift knob way back that I felt it important to bring up this thread to tell the story.

First of all, I love the look and feel of the handcrafted knob I got.

So, a couple of weeks ago I noticed that it was starting to crack. Since I like it so much I sent the original seller a message on e-bay asking him how to fix it. His response was simple and straight forward. "That should have never happened. Here is my address, just send it back and I'll fix it."
So, back it went and just a week later it is back and refinished and looking perfect.

In this day and age it is very refreshing to see a business person provide quality service.
