I just hope that your not paying for this work! Techs by me can never seem to find solutions to some of my problems either. I hope that they get it figured out for you. I had a lot of problems when I first got my "R" too but after numerous service calls it is a great car now!! Hang in there.

Its not crazy just another example of techs not reading their tsb.
The tsb is for a patch to be installed under the cowl to prevent water ingress to tps as genius said.
What is the last six of your vin? I will tell you if it has been done.
It is a service action S159:

Issue:
A concern has been identified on 2003-04 MY S-TYPE R vehicles within the above VIN
range. It is possible that during washing of the vehicle, by car wash or jet wash, the
water can run through the cowl panel grille-fixing hole into the throttle position sensor
housing. This can result in the throttle position sensor failing to function, the engine
management system defaults to ‘limp home’ mode, and a warning MIL is displayed.
A sealing patch is available to prevent water flowing directly from the cowl panel grille
onto the throttle position sensor.
Action:
On 2003-04 MY S-TYPE R vehicles within the above VIN range, install a sealing patch
on the mounting hole located on the suspension turret cross brace at the bracket
securing it to the bulkhead.
WORKSHOP PROCEDURE
1. Open door and hood and install fender protection kit.
2. Remove cowl panel grille, see Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM, section: 501-02,
SRO 76.10.01.
Page 2 of 3 Bulletin Number S303-S159 Date of issue 11/03
3. Clean the area indicated on the bracket of the suspension turret cross brace where
it secures to the bulkhead (Illustration 1).
4. Ensure the plastic insert is central in the rectangular hole of the brace.
5. Remove and discard the backing from the adhesive patch and install the patch
centrally over the right hand rearmost rectangular hole (Illustration 1) of the
suspension turret cross brace.
6. Reinstall the cowl panel grille, see Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM, section: 501-
02, SRO 76.10.01.
7. Remove fender protection kit and close hood and door.

I had the same problem with my 2003 STR. The ******* replaced my throttle body, which didn't fix the problem. Then they found water in my trunk which they said screwed up an eletrical box in the spare tire well. They cleaned the electrical connectors and replaced the trunk seal, and I haven't had the problem since . Praying everyday.

The other day I was looking at my fuse box and I notnoticed water under the spare tire. My seal looks good. I thought it could have been my subwoofer box that might have interfered with the trunk from completely closing. So I moved my sub's and cleared out the water and the next day after driving in the rain. I go look in the trunk and sure enough there it was finding nimos home. A nice big puddle.
When they changed your trunk seal. Did it look worn?

Welcome. I see this is your first post; it is customary to post an intro in the "New Members" forum telling us a bit about yourself and your car. That said, if the trunk seal looks okay, the most obvious point of water ingress is the seals around the tail lamp assemblies.

A clean post with the details of your car is also a good idea. Tacking your issue to the end of an unrelated thread from 2007 may not get you the results you seek,
