Rear anti roll / sway bar bushes

Rear anti roll / sway bar bushes
Hi chaps,
Kitty seems to have developed a knocking noise from the rear passenger side. She's just been MOTd, so it can't be any of the big, obvious bushes (unless the inspector was having an off day) Having googled and searched, I see it could be a variety of things, from worn drop links to the tie rods or the roll bar bushes themselves.
I'll get her in the air and take a look, to see what's what - and if it's the ties or drop links, there's plenty of info out on the web. But very little on the roll bar bushes... Apart from vague mentions of having to drop the sub frame out to get to them, and dealers quoting 6.5 hours labour to fit
A £5 bush! :O
Is this the case? Has anyone renewed these bushes before, that could give me a step by step guide on what needs to be done to get to them?
Forewarned is forearmed
Ta,
Jason

Jason, I am sorry to say I do not recall where on this site you can purchase the bushings but someone has a link so as Jagv8 states a search may help.
Here though is a tutorial for the rear suspension that you requested:

Thanks for the replies chaps - I did do a search before posting, and turned up the tie rod and drop link instructions... So they'll come in handy if it's that.
Bushes are easy to get hold of - British Parts stock them, and they're about a fiver (£5) each.
Roll Bar Bush - XR845062 | Jaguar S Type, Jaguar X150 XK - XKR | Jaguar | British Parts UK
It's just wether I can replace them without dismantling most of the rear end of the car!
I'm sure I read somewhere, but can't find it now, that someone managed to do it using some crows feet wrench attachments on their socket sets. Does that jog anyone's memories?

I did change the rear roll bar bushes on my 2001, I don't know if this applies to facelift models.
It can be done in place. From underneath the car there is just space to put hand to where the bushes are, though it is blind access. I did it on my own, but it would be easier with two people, one to manipulate the bush and bracket from under the car and the other to hold the roll bar and give guidance. You'll probably need a swivel ratchet wrench for the bolt.

Before you do all that. Unhook the rear away bar end links from the rear spindle. Then drive around and see if the clunk is gone or changed.
It's not real common to replace the rear sway bar bushings. The fronts yes very common. But with time and age they certainly could be causing your clunk.
