Rear drivers side turn signal error

Rear drivers side turn signal error
I know people have had this issue before and I have read through every thread I could find but never really found a solution. I intend to take it into a competent mechanic here soon but was hoping to see if anyone has found a solution.
Basically the rear turn signal does not come on except for when i am unlocking the car. And even then its flash is out of sync with the other signals. I want to say its a module going bad but I have no idea even where to begin troubleshooting. I have checked the fuses in the trunk, cleaned the bulb holder, and changed the bulb. As with any malfunction in a Jaguar I am getting an error displayed in the instrument panel. All of the other turn signals and braking work fine though, just this one bulb is screwy. While this may be unrelated the headlamps stay on even when its set to auto.
If anyone has any other ideas they would be greatly appreciated. Car is a 2000 s-type 3.0
Thanks!

Checked today and there was some water in there. Other than cleaning that up what else could i do? Even then what does that effect? Everything else electronically works fine in that section of the car.

Do some reading on old posts about water in the trunk. The whole car talks to itself (if you want to know more get JTIS and both read it and its elec diagrams). You need the trunk not just dried out but sealed against any further water entry. If you're unlucky you have more serious troubles than you now know - so hope to be lucky instead - but work on the reading, drying and sealing
