Rear Electronic Module

My reverse lights and high center mount brake light do not work even though the module is receiving the signal. I tried wiring relays to fix the lights, but the signal wires going into the module stop sending out power when the relay is used because even the relay is too much current draw.

If you get a used RECM you probably need to have the matching suffix from the VCATS or it might not operate properly (if at all).
There are 2 different modules for the X200
Up to VIN L68491
From VIN L68492 to M45254
(USE THE PORTABLE DIAGNOSTIC UNIT TO DETERMINE PART NUMBER SUFFIX)
or use the VCATS LABEL from the car
BOTH NEED TO MATCH!!
I don't remember if they need to be configured to the other modules on the SCP network.

Thanks guys. I would take it to the dealer and have them install a brand new module, but I know the cost would be catastrophic and I am a do it yourself kind of guy. I'd love there to be a simple programming process. I changed the BCM on my 2004 GTO and all I had to do was follow a set of key on and off sequences in 10 minute increments for 40 minutes following horn honks.
All I can say is trying to back up a car in a crowded parking lot is near impossible without working reverse lights.
