Default Rear Seat Connectivity Kit

So I have pulled the trigger on the Jaguar Headrest / Monitor kit too bad I missed the $127 shipped Nalley deal... :-( Anyway, I picked it up new in the box for $249 free shipping from fleaBay...

I am looking to install the kit myself and was hoping some of you that may have already gone down this path could privde me with any pointers / lessons learned when you did yours that may save me some time and heartache.

I have downloaded the fitting instructions from Jaguar but all they have in there is a bunch of pretty drawings and little to NO actual instructions. I like pictures as much as the next guy, but some detailed "tab a into slot b" instructions would have been helpful...

Anyone have some words of wisdom before I tackle this install over the coming weekend?

Bump...

Anyone have any words of wisdom or gotchas I should know about before I tear into this project?

If these are the TV monitors in the seat backs then I'm pretty sure a fair amount of detail was posted a while back when Nalley (I think it was them) had an offer so people fitted them. Be creative with Advanced Search (so you can restrict to this forum).

I have completely frustrated myself trying to figure out the proper way to install the headrest video monitors... I love the jaguar instructions - No deirections or descriptions just pictures! For a company that is so overly engineered in every other aspect, these instructions are pathetic...

That said, car is over at the installer sright now having them fitted and while I was there am having them rip out and reinstall all new laser jammers front and rear as mine have seen better days and are no longer functioning leaving me with a $2000 noise maker installed in my dash!

With the new front and rear transceivers I should be back up and frustrating the boys in blue!

Got the car back finnaly tonight... Damage $1000 for the headrest monitors installed and the repair to my Escort SR7 Radar System.

Turns out all of my Jammers were shot - $125 each X 3 (2 front 1, 1 rear) and of course you cant just replace the jammers, you have to completely remove the old ones and rewire everything. So basically my car was stripped down front to back and all new wire run to the head unit which is very tastefully hidden in the ashtray.

I will have pics of the end products for everyone interested tomorrow.

Oh and if you are thinking about the car installed radar / laser system... Better have some deep pockets! My system has been discontinued by Escort and the system they replaced it with is about $2600 installed!!!

I guess if you factor the cost of the tickets, and the insurance premium hike, it will pay for itself over time...

Default *update*

So I had the car in having the ZR4 laser shifters installed and decided to just let the shop install the headrests et al...

They did a great job on this too and I am just thrilled with the end results. This STR is really coming together!! Of course I am one of the only owners of an almost brand new 2003 STR, but they say love is blind. My efforts and reconditioning may be starting to outweigh what the car is worth, but then again I dont care about resale value as she is NOT for sale!! \

Here are some more of the promised photos!

Still to come, I have the new XJ8 Tucana wheels to be installed and I have some pictures to post of the new Sirius Sattelite radio install!
