Default Rear shocks on 02 4.0 collapsed

So the things starting to do the Mississippi squat. Do I need to remove the tie rods and carpet in the trunk? Looks like it’s going to be a bit of fun. Lmk if anyone has done them recently.

Do you have the manual?
It is somewhat useful.

Not been able to download jtis as it fails to install every time. I’ve watched a few videos about removing suspension like this one below. The only thing that looks tricky is the tie rod looks like it’ll get in the way upon removal.

I have seen problems getting the manual before?
It's still very useful and I have posted links before.

Here is a PDF copy and this link will last about 30 days.

Car was manufactured in 2001 but im pretty sure the rear shocks are similar on gen 1 and 2. Is there a manual for the 1st gen you can post?

No but the one listed above is for 2002-2008. If your doing the suspension I don't think there was too many differences?
Biggest differences on the early cars was they had the 5 speed Ford transmission and 4.0L V-8.

If manufactured in 2001 I think that would make it a 2002 model?

X202 on has revised suspension. Refer to the appropriate Workshop Manual for the correct procedures.

Are you sure it isn’t worn springs? They tend to sag with age on the rear.

Definitely possibly. I got the replacement spring and strut assembly ready to go. Trying to find time to get them on. Got some acceleration issues with the 03 v6 that recently came up that will be putting the v8 springs on hold.
