Default Rear Spoiler arrived - doesn't look like picture

I just picked up the Jaguar OEM rear deck lid spoiler accessory from my local Jag parts department.

When I got home and opened the box, it does not look like the spoiler in the accessories brochure nor the part that is typically found on sport or R type models.

As you can see from the picture it's much wider and fatter and not as thin and I would like it to be. I can confirm that the stamp on the box that it came in as well as the spoiler is marked with S-Type and is also marked with a production date of 2007.

Am I missing something? Did Jag make a design change to this accessory. I don't like the way it looks and don't plan to install. (planning to post onto this forum for reduced sale price)

I plan to call Mina to see if theirs is the thinner one that I want.

Spoiler in Jaguar accessory brochure and Mina Gallery site features an undercut along the back side length (see attached link). The above part does not. Also, the above spoiler is much wider in side profile. The side profiles of the one's shown in Jaguar accessory brochure and Mina are much narrower and have a steeper angle.

Just curious if Jag made an update to spoiler design in 2007.

As I recall they did it for 2004.5MY (for the facelift). Jeff will be along shortly LOL

JagV8,

I think we might be confusing some things. Just to clarify...

The face-lifted 2004 - 2008 S-Types did indeed have the thinner spoiler // higher angle// with the undercut along the backside (nothing to do with the 2004.5 MY facelift). Just search any 2007 S-Type R photo on this forum or image. Even the 2007 accessory brochure reflects the same.

My confusion is that the stamped 2007 part I received looks very different from what is shown in the 2007 brochures.

As an example:

MacSTR (forum member) has a 2007 S-Type R. Look at his garage pictures in his member profile. You will notice the thinner// higher angle// undercut spoiler which is very different than what I received.
