Default Rebuilt engine...

I was surfing the web when I stumbled across this website, anyone ever here of him? He rebuilds Jaguar engines, makes them better, faster, and stonger. I don't know ifit would pass emissions here in Cali...but388 horse power from an N/A engine. I bet it would give the STR a run for its money since the S/C eats up some of those ponies. Sorry guys I could notresize the pic of the engine. Just follow the linky... http://terrysjag.com/engine.html

Dang! They have mesh grills for $209! I paid almost a third more. I know nothing about this company but do know about souping up engines.I don't know if this company is doing this, but a lot of performance shops do,they can only gethigher hp number are using race fuel. If I had to guess, I'd say he bores, leans it out a bit, port and polishes the heads and puts on headers/exhaust manis.

a s/c does not eat power it makes more..lol Its not a turbo there is no lag. Your correct the 4.2 is probably bored and ported. A valve job and intake work. Shorty headers are probably popped on as well.

Pewee let me clear up what I meant. Super chargers run off belts and draw their power directly from the crankshaft. Lets say that the STR is rated at 400 BHP a small percent of power is used to run the belts.

What I should have said is when it comes to F/I, S/C are not as efficient.

400 BHP is at the flywheel, not at the crank! The engine without the S/C, gets about 300 BHP, and when you add the supercharger, the belts steal some of the power, but the boost from the S/C make up for it and take it up to 400BHP. There is no over boost or lag for that matter, and a S/C engine at 400BHP is better than an N/A engine at 395BHP!

I don't know biggie. I would much rather not deal with themaintenance and headaches associated with F/I. IF I could get similar numbers from an N/A engine. Of coursewith F/I it would easier to extract more HP from the engine.

By the way I comparing the STR vs Terry'srebuilt enginethat pumps out more than the stock 300 HP.

I know what you mean about the problems of dealing with forced induction, but hand in hand, If I had to choose for one race, from two cars, with the S/C one being 2HP greater, I'd take it!

Those are inline-6 engines.

I doubt he does the current v6 or v8 engines.
