What was I thinking?!? You are doing a replace..you have nice view of tank-part of the joint.....
Well....nearly burned myself trying to get a pic of the wire clip on the connector - wife just recently brought the Stype home...but you disengage it - you can see the groove on the tank nipple it is riding in....pull it out and have a magnet ready to pluck it off the undertray - it SHOULD stay with the hose coupling..but the best-laid-plans, and all that.....then there is nothing to hold the connection together but the years of accumulated dust and crud. Wiggle and turn gently...you don't really care if you break the tank nipple, but you don't want to damage the hose-connector! Tip: After you fit the new tank, and insert the clip....do the same gentle wiggling/twisting/working at the joint to ensure it is properly engaged before refilling the reservoir.
If 4.2L way different..sorry, this is all useless to you![Icon Shrug](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_shrug.gif)
