Ok - I'll be the first to ask, because I would like to install one too. Which one did you install? Was it a Jag car starter or aftermarket? I picked up a new car starter at Canadian Tire for $35 (not a bad deal) but I'm wondering if anything special has to be done to the Jag for it to work? I've heard some vehicles need special modules or some such beast in order for remote starters to work on their vehicles. Is this the case with Jag?
Thanks in advance for the info!

without going into specifics, aftermarket is the way to go. The factory systems may in fact be inferior in range, and features, however if you want to maintain any kind of warranty on the vehicle itself may be the best way to go.
I cannot speak for anyone else, i strictly use Autopage products. I have used them for over 15 years (at retail level)and i was also the national tech trainer for them. Also i was involved with the C3 system product release, which you can see here www.c3autopageusa.com and if you want to poke around the website you can see that utilizing the c3-rs603 in conjunction with the c3 system, you will have unlimited range on your cell phone, also vehicle tracking capability, vehicle status, and keyl;ess entry linked to your factory security, and remote start.
You will need to use your valet key, and install that into a "coffin" as we call it. It is basically a universal bypass kit and can be had online for around 15 dollars or so..... autopage makes one with a model number UBM-3 which has worked well for me for years
Is it hard or easy??? Well after 20 years of experience doing these on vehicles, i would say it is above average in difficulty. For myself it isnt bad, but for someone just hired at your local best buy, i would have to say do NOT let them do it. Find a seasoned installer, or someone who really knows your vehicle. If you need help you can always PM me your general location and i will try and get you too someone i know will do your vehicle with care.

That looks like a fantastic remote starter system - I love the fact you can actually start your car from your cell phone! Unfortunately when I went through the site, it doesn't look like any Canadian cell phone carriers are supported
Now that I know that this type of system exists, I look around to see if there are any Canadian versions out there.
Thanks for the heads up!
