Remote Start For S type

Remote start?
Okay now That I realized that the thread was moved.
The LS Remote start will not work on a post 2003 model year S-type.
The 00-02 S-Type, and The Entire Lincoln LS Run used the Ford PATS security, which has been well documented and there are aftermarket modules available to duplicate it, and enable a remote start.
The 2003 + S-Type (which uses a Jaguar key with integrated remote), has a different immobilizer system, which is Jag specific.
You actually can get a "Post" key made by a dealer - just a key with no remote, but the key's transponder still has to be programmed to the car, and the only way to do it is with a Jaguar IDS tool. (All keys, up to 5 have to be programmed simultaneously, both for ignition and for keyless entry).
If you're willing to sacrifice the security of the coded key immobilizer (i.e. if someone where to break in, all they would have to do is mechanically force the ignition lock, or hotwire the car) and it would start, then you can have remote Start in the S-Type.
It's actually pretty easy, but you do have to run wires into a couple parts of the car, and chop up said post key.
I have an aftermarket alarm / keyless in mine, but didn't do the remote start, because I don't really have a need for it, my car stays in the garage at home and at work.
I'd be glad to give anyone a step by step including wiring diagrams of where to tap into for different functions.

Not trying to throw shade on a enthusiastic jaguar owner. Although after reading several other members posting replies about the install process an what you will lose in trade off. It ain't worth the trouble... enjoy your jaguar unmolested by some mechanic hacking your cat...
