This was easy however I had a hard time finding a thread specific to an S Type (2004 V8).
Step 1. Very simple carefully pop out the black rubber door handle dust cover thing (it's very lightly snapped in there) and remove the 2 screws.
Step 2. remove the backing plate to the chrome lock and latch handle pop the front most section loose and finagle the rest off (be gentle it's plastic)
Step 3. Pop off the 7 plastic door panel clips they will break very easy if you are the Incredible Hulk so relax and take your time. (I used a large serving fork like the ones to hold down prim rib when you cut it wide enough to slip around the prong and a long screwdriver)
Step 4. unplug the 2 wire harnesses and your done.
There may be other post like this I just had a hard time finding one for an S Type

I am having trouble with my door card also. I successfully completed the above steps 1-3. There is one pin (I think) about two inches behind the latch/lock handle and three to four inches from the top, When I pulled on it, it started to buckle that part of the card slightly. Not wanting to damage the card I stopped pulling. I also tried wiggling towards the front and back, also lifting up, to no avail. I can pull the top of the door card back enough to see the connector is white and maybe two inches long. I could not get a pry tool down far enough or at any kind of useful angle. My car is a 2001 S-type with the 3.0 engine. It was built in January of 01, if that helps any. Thanks for any help or ideas.
