Default Removing Front Headrests

I have electric headrests (just realized that) and cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove them so I can put on my seat covers for the summer. Pulling hard doesn't seem to work and I obviusly dont want to break them, and there is no button to press to disengage them.

Any direction would be helpful, thanks!

How do you tell if you have electrics?

If it's an STR then it has power headrests. Move the long button on the side of the seat up and down to adjust. It's easy to miss if you don't know they are power.

I have deduced that the back plastic panel above the magazine holder on each of the seats has to be popped off, then the next step is uknown. Can I pull off the green panel? It appears that it is the only thing preventing the top from coming out, as it is acting like a stop. I think I can just pull the green panel snaps off and the whole head rest might be ready to pop off, but since its plastic I am tentative on pulling hard.

See attached pic below for reference on where I think I should pull:

Back in early February I had to remove the passenger seat from my wife's recently-acquired 2006 XK8 and then take the seat apart in order to repair its motorized headrest cable. Forum member "Reverend Sam" had previously done this repair to his 2003 XK8. He videoed the repair process and posted it on his YouTube channel. Pull up YouTube, search using "Reverend Sam Jaguar XK8 Repair", and look for it among his many do-it-yourself repair videos. My guess is that the XK8's seat construction is similar enough to help you considerably with your S-Type....
