I traded in the smoke covers to get the clear Xpel covers. They are very nice but kind of tough to install because our headlights are oval and set at an angle so it's hard to center them correctly.

Had some splotches and was disgusted with the whole install but the instructions said that might happen and give them time to dry completely under the film. Well it's been a little over 2 weeks and they are now very clear and look great. All cloudiness and splotches are gone. Hopefully I won't be polishing head lights anymore!

I wanted to report back after having the XPEL covers on for a while.

So far the headlights are just a clear as the day the covers were installed. At last a permanent or maybe at least a long term solution to cloudy headlights!!

I'm cheap, a 5" palm buffer with a new pad, a tube of Dollar Store toothpaste, and a little water. Took about 15 minutes per light and I finished it off with a coat of aircraft windshield polish for plexiglass. Wipe this off with a soft cloth. Allow 10 minutes for this step. Looks like new and looks good after 3 months of hot Texas sun. Costs is about $5.00 per treatment. No sanding, no rubbing and you can even brush your teeth when finished. I tried the other suggestions through the years and learned of this at a car show. I apply the aircraft polish about once a month. Anyway, it works for me.......
