Replaced DCCV, Now Two New Odditites

Everyone,
I was lacking heat in my new-to-me '02 3.0 with 105K miles, replaced the DCCV and thermostat and now I have heat! I don't know how long the heat hadn't been working but two new things have popped up-
If I have the dual climate zones at different temperatures the passenger side seems much hotter than the driver's, would that be indicative of passenger side temp sensor(s) issues or something in the climate control head itself?
Also, after I've been driving a bit the radiator fan runs after the car has been turned off which is normal but it was about 65 degrees this morning; the fans didn't run before the DCCV, t-stat and coolant change...
Any and all thoughts/suggestions are appreciated!

Could also be your air cond. module. There's a circuit trace on these that tends to short out when the DCCV goes bad. There should be several write ups in the archives on how to pull the circuit board and see if that's the case... this is exactly what happened to mine after replacing my DCCV (as far as the lop-sided heat thing goes).

Its neither, the heater core need to be flushed out and hope you can get enough flow through the drivers side of the core to clear it. The heater core end run is on the drivers side and debris and sediment collects there and hardens. You should have blown out the core with compressed air in each pipe while you had the dccv out. I would go back and do that first. Then flush it. On cores i could not clear this way i had to replace. I cut the old ones open and youre not gonna get any flush though a core thats plugged up solid down on the end which is the drivers side. Another reason to do cooling system flushes as well ws operate the heater at least a few times in the summer.

Oh, I'm not sure which years the burnt trace issue wasn't applicable (perhaps your year has a completely different module design than the later years). Just thought I'd toss it out there as mine was doing the exact same thing and it only takes maybe 10 minutes to pull the board and check it.

Update- When dual zone isn't turned on I get two different temperatures from the driver's and passenger's side, when dual climate is on at 70 degrees for the driver and 84 for the passenger the driver's side is hotter than the passenger's side...
It was 45 degrees driving in this morning and the radiator fan turned on, to me I think the inside temp sensors need to be looked at a coolant bleed; anyone else have any ideas or suggestions?

If your ac module(the display) was ever replaced and not programmed it works to uk right hand drive standards ie all function are backwards for the us. This is why i always have to argue with extended warranty companies that tell me the ac modules dont have to be programmmed and dont want to pay for it...ok then im not programming it and the customer can call you when they notice the controls operate backwards..................

Why not fix it correctly if thats indeed the issue.
Why would they do that? Well because the car is built in the uk, thyere a right hand drive and "we" drive on the wrong side of the road. So theyre just setup for uk market and if it goes to the us you just program it as such. The car are all built to be either right or left. If you look on the passenger side firewall youll see the blocked off opening for the steering column to come through to convert to right hand drive

The DCCV went bad in my '03 and I delayed replacing it which resulted in the Climate Control Modul failure. $1,523 dollars later all is well. By the way if any, Royce, Mercedes or Jag owner in the St. Louis area needs service I highly recomend Erwin F.chwarz dealership. On time, reasonable labor hours charged and you get you car back detailed out. Don R

Don remember the modules can be repaired and you can DIY if desired. You can also send it out to this place. They can even add some kind of circuit board protection to prevent it from happening again. When the DCCV goes bad it sometimes draws excessive current and this is what does the damage.

It's pretty easy to see the damage. We have had a great repair thread with pictures on this site. It burns a trace on the circuirt board and only a short peice of wire is needed for the repair.
