Back in June when our 2005 S-Type was still under factory warranty, the drivers side fog light plastic brackets snapped off and the entire assembly slid out of its normal position and hid behind the front bumper. I was able to get to it fairly easily by driving the front end up onto my Rhino Ramps and going in underneath and behind the bumper. There are three small screws that hold the fog light assembly in place. Remove them and the assembly will slide out. You then unplug the power harness and you're ready to swap assemblies.
If these brackets were metal instead of plastic, I never would have had a problem. The bulb was fine. Our incident was covered under the factory warranty. If I remember correctly, the entire assembly sold for about $140 at our dealership. Way too much for what is essentially a plastic housing with a bulb covered by a plastic lens. I don't believe that the lens is sold separately, but you should check on that....
