Latest Update

2 years and 7 months on, and 65,000Kms on them, the Yokohama S Drives are nearing the end.

On the advice of my mechanic, I'm upgrading to the Michelin Primacy HPs. Everything I read about them is top notch.

However, for a mid price tyre, the Yokohamas have been fantastic. One drawback - directional - so limited rotation options. The Michelins are asymmetric but not directional so I can rotate front & rear/left & right.

I'll leave a review update in a few months time.

Regards

DT

If you google this topic it seems that you are not alone. I winder if it's just a certain batch of tires or what?

Update on the Update!!

I've been running the Michelin Primacy HPs for over 3 months now - much better than the Yokohama S. Good ride, quiet, good wet/dry holding, and I suspect I'm getting better fuel economy. I haven't finished my test yet.

Default Michelin Primacy - update on update on update

OK. So here we are 6 months since fitting the Michelins.

Can't speak highly enough of them.

Quiet, good rolling resistance - and a super smooth ride.

Already another 8000Kms and little wear.

The yokohama S were good. The Michelins are great. And great value for money - $200/tyre.
And for once it doesn't matter whether they are Aussie, US or Canadian dollars - all pretty much 1 for 1.
