Find the problem then fix it, putting a cover on it is not the answer. As for the codes when did the additional codes come in? Water in the coils does not mean you need to replace them it means you need to stop the leak and just clean and dry them! I am not sure what you have going on but unless the coil test bad why replace it. As for the knock sensor, it does not like water! Clear the code and see what takes place, if you think the octane level is the issue up it to the next level and see what takes place.

i hope putting 87 octane in your car was an accident, if not shame on you.

good luck with your problems though. Id suggest looking for a good independent service specialist in your area.

It's been a week since I drove car ,today started and restricted performance light, then engine light!! Ran it for 15 min shutoff and restricted petformance light went out but engine light stayed on,, I am so tired of this. Should i replace 1,3 ,7 coils like dealer suggested??? and Also bank 1 knock sensor( i still have 1/8 th tank of 87 octane that was put in on accident ??? I need help. Is anyone in the Allentown pa area that knows a good jag specific mechanic? Bennett jaguar / land rover is overv priced. $980 for 3 coils replaced, and $ 1200 for knock sensor!! Wtf!!!

What are the codes now? If it is 1, 3 & 7 coils then I would want to know why the car was running fine and then die again. Was it raining again? The knock sensor will indicate when a cylinder in misfiring. What is causing the misfire?

Why only half a tank of 93 octane? I would fill her up dump a bottle of octane booster in and all is well.
