Hi wizards, I've done a bit of searching but just wondered if anyone has retro-fitted a cd multichanger to a 99 S Type?

Is it true that you have to take it to a Jag dealer to have some jiggery pokery done to make it work?

Also, will it only fit in the glovebox, or are there wires for it in the boot as well?

I don't know, but if you do find out it can be done...I just installed a new stereo a few hours ago, and lost the use of my CD changer in the process (so I can sell it to you if needed).

 

ninja, you should get a double din in dash. Some have HDD built in. I have an AVIC-Z3 by Pioneer with an 120gb HDD. I rip all my music no need for the 6 CD Changer.

 

I would imagine it is probably cheaper to do this as well. Procuring all the stuff needed to retrofit the CD changer might be expensive.

The one I had installed yesterday is double DIN; Metra makes a kit which makes the install look great, and there are a ton of features which render a CD changer obsolete.
