Default Retrofiting Nav Display in 2002.5 S-Type (lift) electrical problem

Hi everybody,
I`m from Poland and I found your forum when I`m looking for a help with retrofitting a nav display to non nav s-type 2002.5 (an old s-type exterior with new console and interior).
I bought an RCCM module and mounted in instead of manual AC control panel, I have navigation control module mounted in a trunk, display to use in cabin - from 2005 s-type. I plugged all cables from manual AC control module to RCCM, Audio cables to new audio unit without any changes, the same with optic fiber. Temporary I disconnected CD auto-changer in a trunk and put an optic fiber to the nav module.
This is the way how I made custom loom from the nav control module to the display and where are connected:

Connector: CA258 (navigation control module)
Pin outs:
1: Rear Fuse-box to positive
2: Pin: 13 of Connector: FC92
3: Pin: 3 of Connector: CA267 (CD AUTO-CHANGER) - D2B Wake Up
4: Pin: 1 of Connector: CA241 (Parking Brake Control Module) - Standard Corporate Protocol Network

Problem is that the screen don't want to work. I have just dimmer of the buttons but nothing on the screen, I cant even turn the rear window heating or AC or music (radio/cd).

Hate to break the bad news - but I don't think this type retrofit is possible to the pre 03 S Types...

I made a little step forward and now I`m pretty sure it is possible to retrofit navi to non navi. I don't have any idea how, but today, when I back from work and try to switch ignition on, display works. I can enter to menu etc. But: 1) I can`t use Air-condition and all features connected with it (heating rear window etc) - "Ignition off no A/C available” and I cant use audio "communication fault please consult your dealer". Whats wrong?

I have to write that my original audio module (in cabin) was for the tapes and I want to use a new one delivered with navi module (cd version). When I connect navi and my audio module I can run audio but from audio module, not from touch display where I have still commend that there is problem with communication. Should I program audio module or something?

The RCCM module I have from 4.2l V8 S-type. Is it a problem? I found a lot of information's that it doesn't matter from what version is the RCCM module.

Any Ideas? Thanks a lot.

For starters, you definitely can retrofit sat nav to your car - it's the facelift model, though it didn't arrive in the US until the following year.

I have retrofitted sat nav to the same car that you have, and I've just taken it out of that car and retrofitted it a later 4.2 V8. I've also changed from tape to cd player on the main console.

So, the RCCM unit should be compatible - I've used it in both a 2002.5 3.0 and a 2005 4.2. There also shouldn't be any problem with the cd player.

I'd suggest you have a look on the UK forum where there is a huge thread on the retrofit (it's a sticky in the X-type sub-forum), including instructions for the cable loom. I suspect you have a cable problem.

There is also a guy on the forum there - Jostaffs - who makes the retrofit wiring loom (he did mine). I'm not sure if he'll ship to Poland but there's no harm in asking!

Are you sure that the dealer does not have to program something?
I think what you are doing is possible but I don't think you can do it alone.

As I understand it, there's no need for a dealer unless you need the D2B optical network 'woken up'. But if you have anything already on the network - in this case a cd changer - then you definitely don't.

And you might not need a dealer even if there aren't any existing peripherals. My 2002.5 car didn't have anything on the network but it was all just plug and play. It's actually quite straightforward to do, especially if you get someone to make the retrofit cable (wiring is not my strong suit).

Retrofitting complete, everything works fine ! Thanks to all of you. My mistake was in SCPN cables. They should by twisted. When I did this, screen start to work. Thanks again!
