S Type 2000 3.0 SE Air conditioning Pipe Snapped
Hello I'm new here so I apologise in advance if the subject has been beaten to death with a big stick!
My air con isn't functioning so I removed the car to an Auto-centre here in the Uk for a refill...I got the old..."Could you just pop outside and have a look at this "routine
Any way it appears that about halfway along the bonnet under a couple of fairly wide aluminium pipes is the narrower Air con pipe which goes to the High pressure inlet...Mine is in split in 2! I wonder is this a home fix I'm reasonably handy being an old Motorcyclist so don't mind getting my hands dirty so to speak.
The advice I need is: Is the pipe all one piece ( so I can't possibly buy the wrong end) Also is it fixable without removing the engine..radiator...front cross member..Inter-stellar Overdrive and Dilithium Fusion Reactor?
Many thanks in advance
Brian (bonnietiler)

I've read about this before so worth a Search to see what others did. I think it's tough to remove the pipe but there must be a fix. May need an a/c guy who has a clue!
Also try Search on the US forum.
Bear in mind there can be debris in the system and it will in any case need an extended vacuum drawing to remove moisture. The later cars have a desiccant bag but I don't know if yours does - should be replaced when the pipe is fixed.
