S type 2001 3.0L general driving questions
Hi!
So i have a couple of questions. First of at what rpm should I change gears? Second at what rpm should I hold a steady speed, for example 50 km/h? Is it so that the engine only "brakes" for you when over 1800 rpm and if not how can i fix it? And lastly do you recommend any website to buy parts from. The site needs to ship to Finland if possible. Sorry for bad English but as said im irom Finland so my English isnt the best. Thanks in advance for the help.

I looked trough the owners manual and I can't find anything about the recommended rpm. Sure i'll drive like it feels okay but it would be nice to have some guide lines.

Hi
I too have a manual gearbox 3.0 l. So I will try to help you. I don't go by revs much I go more by the gears. In towns I use the Third gear 50 km/h is around 2000 revs per minute. 4 and 5th for country roads 100,km/h aprox. 2000 rpm. On motorways 5th gear 3000 rpm 130 km/h.
You will find out yourself that the engine is very flexible.
