S Type 2004 electric seats - rewiring
Hi All and thanks for reading,
I haven't got as far as buying a whole Jag yet but I did but the front and rear seats and the door cards and centre console.
The rear seats are now a brilliant settee / sofa / couch in my son's room a la Top Gear. The door cards are not being used yet as I can't think of anything to do with them (feel free if you have any schemes!).
My next project is to rehome the front seats similar to https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...ide-car-72264/ - which I've read.
I'm not sure if the seats are currently high / low or what and want to get power to them to see if I can lower them enough to fit where I need them. If I can them fab - would be great. If not I may need to make them electric back rest for how upright you sit and manual forward and back.
a) Does anyone have a wiring diagram or other assist? There's 6 plug connectors, 4 open and their brothers are presumably in the donor vehicle and 2 are in use with wires to elsewhere in the seat (passenger seat at the moment).
b) Most importantly, I'd like to avoid setting off the seatbelt pre-tensioner or air bag and at 16 amps, I'd quite like to avoid electrocuting myself, shorting the battery or burning out the seat motors.
I'm ok with electrics but VERY cautious as I like the use of my battery, seat, fingers....
Thank you for looking, we now return you to your regular broadcast.
