Default S-Type 3.0 2000 - rough idle all the time, gives only 3000rpm at stand?

Hello

I have problem, car starts great at all conditions. The idle at 1000 goes up and down... 900-1100.. And sometimes feels like stalling but it doesnt.
if i give gas it strumbles a lot and it is really rough and it gives only 3000rpm as max (might be normal?)
no engine fail lights on or any error lamps....
no error codes

at some rpms it feels like it runs fine but the rpm might change a little...

Any ideas,?

The maximum of 3K RPM while in neutral is normal, the engine has a built in limiter.

Are you sure there are no codes? What about fuel trims?

May be an air leak. That engine has common one(s) described in many threads, with help you can read.

Hello again.

Just got it to work.

Took off intake and coils + plugs...one plug was loose.
I cheked coils, measured, and took "new" ones from spare car, few was with bigger ohms so i changed those.

Installed intake with silicone grease and now it works fine...dont really know excatly what was wrong...just that loose plug or few coils...but tought that ecm should give eroor code when broken coil
