Default S-Type 3.0 owners, can you take a picture of this part in your engine bay for me pls?

Hi there

Model Year 2000

I am struggling on getting some parts for my car as the parts Jaguar are supplying don't seem to fit together and the parts guys just seem to not have any ideas.

I'd would be hugely greatful if S-type 3.0 owners could take a close up image with flash of the area I've circled please so I can try to work out which parts I need and to be able to show Jaguar actual photographs. My pipe is split and seems custom/home made, no doubt because the previous owner also could not get the parts required to fix. So with pictures I can hopefully point out to Jaguar what I need and they can source for me.

Thanks in advance.

Gibbo, I had to edit your post. The picture wasn't showing and I added your model year.

Sorry I cannot help you out, MY's 2003 and up are different than yours.

But yes that part can cause a vacuum leak. As a matter of fact the pre face lift vehicles are notorious for all the vacuum lines becoming brittle and cracking.

Thanks for the update, I've got the parts, they just don't seem to fit together and I gave Jaguar my VIN.

Hence be good to see pictures close up of pre 2003 cars to see if with pictures I can try to get the right parts so I can replace my split/leaking rubber hose/pipe.

PM me your email and I will send you a pic from my phone. I am working today and the server won't allow me to use photobucket to post a pic.

Its Gibbo205@hotmail.com

For now I am using a very small section of metal pipe to connect my hoses together. Be good to see images though as there is obviously an official part from jaguar to do this.

What is the purpose of that hose?

I have a vacuum leak too, same hose, but no idea where the leak is actually located. (Rough idle goes away when I remove the hose and cover the hole in the intake manifold with my thumb)

Also that L-shaped (rubber?) connector tube is missing and has been replaced by previous owner with another kind of tube. Where can I get a new original part?

Thank you in advance.

Ps. Mine had a vacuum leak in the other end too, in the manifold end, and after I fixed it, it is much better now, but clearly still a vacuum leak in that hose somewhere.

Surely someone reading this knows the purpose of that hose?

Look up Gus on this site for his repair page. He has a great diagram on how to fix this.

You can go in a dealer and show them and/or look at their parts on-screen to find it. With more posts on here you can grab the free JEPC and browse to find it. There are also online parts sites you can browse to find it. More helpp on here means you'd have to post a pic I think.
