I am in the process of replacing my chains and tensioners on my 2000 S type 4.0l and would like to confirm that my timing is correct.I have rolled the engine over several times finishing at the "D hole" at the crank sensor and the camshaft flats are were they should be with the lock down tool ( my homemade version )
Anybody ad anything more to my adventure ?
Thanks,
Rob

yes, before you tighten the bolt for the exhaust cam spocket, pull the grenade pin on the upper tensioners to release and put tension on the correct side of the chain. Now tighten the bolt and then you can remove your locking tools, not doing this can easily lead to the cams rotating after you unlock them resulting in cam timing being off a few degrees
