Question S type Automatic headlights

Morning, does any one know if when you have factory xenon's on your car whether it has automatic headlights as well, or whether that is not an option you can have.I have learnt from jaguar parts that there are two types of headlight switches available for lets say a 2007, one for the auto headlight type and the other for a system that does not have auto lights,do you also know if the headlight stalk is the same as in, one type for auto and another one for non auto lights. The problem I have got is I have got a tech Wix that thought it would not be much of a problem retrofitting jaguar Xenons to my s type with standard headlights but he is having all sorts of problems with the install, he has it all working but can not seem to find what is draining the battery over night, seems to think it might be something with the auto headlights ?
Ive have signed up for the Brighton run if the car get back together by then

Has he also added self-levelling and headlamp washers plus changed the headlights (casings etc so the proper lenses etc are used)?

Xenons are prone to blinding other people, which is why the law requires various things.

It will count as a modification so be sure to tell your insurer what you've done and if it does not meet the legal requirements you must tell them or they are within their rights not to cover you (it may also be insurance fraud).

People usually just fit brighter halogens in place of the ones they used to have.

>he also added self-levelling

Speaking of which, does anyone know why Jaguar installed the "up"-"down"-"middle" moving headlamps? I understand wanting to ensure that they are not set too high, but that holds for all makers. Why did Jaguar have to use the silly bouncing lights?

All part of obeying the law I expect. Each movable item costs more so they probably only fit (i.e. pay extra) as required.

What I read was they are just self leveling for different loads in the car. Don't think any law required it.

I thought that auto headlights were standard in the S Type? I have never seen a car without them? Halogen or HID.

He's in the UK like me and the law here DOES require both self-levelling and headlamp powerwash. (It's a criminal offence - not a civil one.)

Thanks for the reply, yes power wash has been fitted to the original spec plus all the other components to comply with the law,but I still have not got the answer to my question, which was. do the models with the xenon's have automatic headlights as in coming on when it gets dark.
Regards

It's a position on the stalk as per the handbook. (Which is free as the forum stickies say.)
