Default S Type Bluetooth installation

Hi everyone,

I am new on this site. My S Type 2005 has no phone install but has satnav and voice activation and mic. I am thinking of buying Bluetooth module from eBay, I need advise on the PN and where will the wiring harness be located.

Have you checked to see if you already have the module installed?
If you already have the mic and voice activation then you probably already have the module.
I think it should be in the luggage compartment on the right hand side behind the carpet.
But then again I could be wrong

HI
Earlier cars needed a phone module in the boot and a bluetooth module in the armrest
some pre 2003 cars the wiring in the armrest is configured for the phone/handset to be plugged in
bluetooth module can be fitted but some of the wires on the connector in the armrest need swapping about also a couple of wires on the phone module need swapping, its quite straight forward to do
or if you dont have a phone module, because you need the phone module and bluetooth module and mic for it to work, you can buy a later phone/bluetooth module, which has both units combined, but you will need the phone/bluetooth module, bluetooth antenna and the mic
2nd option is easier to fit and supports more modern phones
I have the earlier version and swapped the wires and it works great wth my sony xperia z5 premium
cheers
Joe
