S-Type Body Fender/Wheel Well/Valence Questions
Ok folks - here it goes, my first post on the forum. I am the proud owner of a 2003 S-Type which has been pampered, has low miles and needs some TLC.
The car was involved in an accident about 5 years ago. The bottom was pretty scrapped-up and a lot of work was done by a very reputable body shop here in Indianapolis.
Here's where I need help. Both inner wheel well's have gaps where they should be nice and tight with the front fenders. If I push up on the lower fender, I can actually generate enough flex where I can push the inner wheel well back behind the fender and it looks pretty - but it isn't staying put. When I look really close (see picture), it appears as if there is a screw hole in the wheel well and it would be the most perfect place for some type of a bracket to screw into - two tie the inner wheel well and the bumper together - EXCEPT the body shop says there isn't one. I ended-up taking their work for it and went to the dealer to buy a new valence. The one that had been part of the original repair was scuffed, had minor deformations and I figured I'd start fresh. But I forgot to ask the dealership about the brackets - so, can someone please tell me if there are brackets that keep this nice and tight or if my new valence is going to do the trick.
Next on the list, you would think with all of the underbody work done, there would have been the other valence parts - Not. So, my second question is - are folks replacing these valence/plastic shields for the bottom of their Jags or are they leaving them off?
Thanks,
Mark

Btw ..For Those That Are In Need Of A New Bumper Cover..Look Up "Prestige Bumpers". They Refurbish Used Bumper Covers And Offer Them At Roughly Half The Cost Of OEM. Great Place! I Ordered My Cover On A Sunday Over The Web And Received It Wednesday.. Not Bad Considering They Don't Start The Refurb Process Until They Receive A Payed Order. Covers Arrive Primed, All Tabs/Mounts/Cracks Repaired, And They Filled The License Plate Holes.
