I think I know where it lives. Under the plastic panel that runs the length of the egnine compartment, right? But how do I get that panel off? How do I get the fasters loose? Any pictures out there somewhere?

The fasteners are removed by pressing the small pin that is in the middle of them down a few mm, not much! That loosens them and allows you to lift them out. To refit push the pin upwards so it is proud of the fitting by a few mm, place back in location and then press the pin down flush. You will se how it works when you get one out.
