Hi All,
I'll be collecting a '99 3.0 SE this coming Friday; dead excited.
My question is this. In my position is there anything you'd do by default? An example is that the car doesn't have Premium Sound so I'm planning on at least upgrading the speakers (I'd like to add and amp/sub also but not investigated how difficult this may be).
Is there anything I should consider doing by default? The car has a full Jaguar history but I'll still be giving it a good service (I never trust stamped books).
I'm not too fussed about aesthetics.
The car has 57000 miles.
Thanks
Martin,

Have the tranny fluid flushed and sump filter replaced. Ensure they refill with the correct fluid. (assuming automatic)
Not sure I'd bother with the premium sound, I upgraded my speakers (pioneer) and head unit (kenwood) in my 01 S-type. I've got premium sound in my XJR, but the sub is Faaaar from impressive.

These cars are beautiful.
They're exciting to drive when one gets the opportunity.
my 2000 V8 S-type still puts a smile on my face every time I open the door to the garage. I paid a fortune for it years ago.
But unfortunately, these cars are riddled with problems.
Make sure you always have some form of disposable income for unforeseen circumstances. As much as I scream, nag, and bicker, it's hard for me to let the car go. I just love my car. Even with the headaches.
