I haven't seen a thread about removing the fender. It is a straight forward job.
1. Take off the rocker panel. - probably the most difficult part. The fasteners that snap it on are easilty stretched/damaged.
2. Take off the wheel.
3. Remove the plastic wheel-well liner. Mainly uses plastic push fasteners, and a couple sheet metal screws.
4. Look inside the fender area and remove the connector to the running light and one plastic harness tab. - It will likely shatter due to age.
5. With your head in the fender well, look back towards the door and locate 2 hex fender bolts holding the fender to the chassis. (1/4" drive metric sockets fit) Bolts are hard to see, so you will remove them blind by feel.
6. Remove the 2 bolts on the inside front of the fender above the front bumper.
7. Open the hood. There are 3 bolts that hold the fender to the chassis, plus the hinge for the hood. You have to either remove the hood, or brace it up after you remove the hinge, and pressure cylinder.
First time around, should take about 1-1/2 hours. Once you do it one time, a fender can removed in about 30 minutes.
Good luck.
