Rick - when a little package comes to me from ebay, and it's for my Jag, I'm going to blame it all on you! Strut caps, hmmmm... you're right - it does finish it off!

And no big trophy for me today. Oh well! But what a day. I'm going to start a new thread on the British Car Day - well over 1000 cars showed up. Too many cars, too little time!

Rick's nod to the strut caps made me think back to the moulded plastic panels on my 2001 S-Type which really made for a clean look.

Thanks Gus! I used the Gunk Citrus Engine Brite cleaner and detailer. I picked this one up versus the standard can of Gunk because it stated you can use it as an engine detailer after you use it to clean the engine. You might be able to use the standard can as a detailer as well, but it didn't have instruction for that on the can. I'm really happy with the results - especially because I didn't get the dreaded limp mode, despite driving about 400kms yesterday.

Looks very nice Rob, I'm now reluctant to open my own hood.

BTW- We'll be passing through Peterborough on Thursday, please wave if you see us! Thanks again for all the help on the transport issue to Pearson.

replying to this post 4 years later ...but I must say that came out very nice ! I'm wanting to clean out my s-type engine area but I'm a little iffy about it as I kinda ruined one of my fathers cars as a child...I volunteered to wash his Oldsmobile forgot what model...I sprayed the cars exterior with our garden hose then I popped open the hood and sprayed it all over the engine for quite some time trying to get it nice and clean...If I recall that car didn't last a month after that engine wash and he just sold it to a junk yard
Anyway I might just purchase some engine cleaning spray or something and clean it by hand =D

It'll take ages and great care not to create faults.
