S-Type horn replacement/upgrade
I won't go into detail on the grille and existing horn removal. Photo 1 is the clean slate of the area behind the grille.
Next are the 3 horns I decided to use. A "matching set" from a 1965 Cadillac. I had to flatten out the mounting tabs to make them work with my locations.
The new screws are self-tapping ones from the hardware store. 2 on the driver's side and 1 on the passenger's.
Next are the horns mounted. I had to run ground wires for the 2 smaller horns, but the trumpet is grounded to the bumper.
All connections were soldered and taped.
I was surprised at how much room there was.
Then the moment of truth. The first trial sounding!
All in all, very satisfied with the results.
