Thanks Rick.
It was my late father's. It's a 42' 2006 Catalina Mk III Pullman.
More info here:

It's currently docked in Annapolis, MD. Unfortunately, (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), the only way I can afford to keep / maintain it is to sublease it through a charter company. I can still block out time for my personal use though. The furthest it's been is San Juan, PR so far. We'll see what the future holds. Work is nuts these days and in the last year I've taken a grand total of 4 vacation days, 2 of which were for personal reasons.
Maybe someday when I get a chance to slow down I'll actually enjoy it...

family pics
Pics are myself and wife (head shots because to vain to post what's below ). My son is my avatar when very young, now with his golf pic(4 handicap) from yearbook (graduating this year from high school) and four of my daughter at 7 years old, the pic of her field hockey team in high school which I thought was just very cool and love to show everyone because I took it, and then her modeling for some pics they put in her college magazine for a fashion layout which I was not too excited about but they did turn out ok.

That's a nice car... Especially with the 19's on it...
Interesting that Jag chose to put the chrome stuff on there in an era where most other companies were getting rid of chrome. What year is the car? Maybe it was an end of production life decision... What really threw me was the chrome grille. I have the same grille on my lowly 03 S-Type 3.0 (I added it). But I've never seen an Type R with a non body color grill. It works though, especially with the black...

its a 07', dont get me wrong I might be thinking about painting them black since i bought and installed the chrome black leaper also. I still think its like a classy STR instead of the mean all one color trim. Yeah but the grill I believe change in 05'. but its a look alike, had the the same grille on also on my 01' s-type 3.0 (I added it also)
If it were my car... (Is it tinted?) - I'd paint the chrome trim around the windows, but leave the bumper chrome and grille alone... It looks right.
Another interesting point is that it still has the Type-R headlights. (With the black reflector instead of the chrome one).

What amazes me is the chrome around the windows as well... I know the last redesign with the more modern tail, and the different tail lights etc was in 05 - but all the 05+ S-Type R's have the chrome grille?

Yeah my car is tinted, 5% limos all around and 30% whole windshield. also have the automatic curtain in the back. I also noticed the headlights housing some black and some chrome. Interesting topic because no one has had the answer on why my STR comes like that.
Well im planning on painting the chrome trim black and also window trim which you mentioned so lets see how that goes.

The funny thing is the 05 STR is the last year the STR had a body color trunk spear. Making it the only refreshed body model year that has no chrome except for the window surrounds.

I wouldn't black it out... It is an option package that only ran for a few years.. Why kill the unique nature of your car? Also, your car has the warm walnut trim while most STR's have a dark grey wood...Nice and unique...

From 06 (I think) and up, the STR was available with a "high line" package as an option. What that basically included was exterior chrome and walnut interior trim with upgraded piped seats. They are actually pretty common (if anything about an STR can be called common) since the dealers seemed to order them that way. The standard car was still body color trim. I think it would be cool to debadge a high line / chromed STR and really create a sleeper looking car....
