S-Type P1646 problem
Hi all
Got a 2005 S-Type 3.0 V6 with the above fault code.
I was told it was the O2/Lambda sensor, Bank 1 Upstream, I have purchased a replacement, fitted to bank 1, (left side of the engine as you look towards the windscreen), had the fault cleared, car ran fine until this morning, fitted sensor yesterday, ran lumpy for half a mile, EML light came on and it ran fine.
I have had the codes read again this morning and getting the same fault as before: P1646 - Heated oxygen sensor control module bank 1 open/shorted.
Should the replacement sensor have fixed this fault or have I been given incorrect information with regard to the sensor?
Thanks for any help on this matter.
Tobias

Could be the wrong kind of sensor or even a bad one despite being new.
Or, any of the other causes listed for that code. Free downloads on this site or JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource
