Default S Type R dash trim question

Did any of the STRs come with a brushed aluminum dash trim or were they all wood like most any Euro car?

Everyone that I recall seeing has wood. I was asking about the big piece that goes around the air vents and glove box. The reason I asked was there is a silver 05 I was checking out and it has a piece of brushed aluminum there. Someone mentioned the black/gray seats it has is a rare interior color or something, so I didn't know if some models had brushed aluminum instead of wood in certain areas, or if an owner just put on a trim kit to hide some cracking wood trim or whatever.

Depends if a customer ordered it and waited for it to arrive.

i was curious after reading your post and found a jan 1st car and driver article that states beginning with the 05 str models, for the first time ever for jaguar, aluminum dash trim will be an option on the sport package....so the 05 you looked must be factory....good find

Hmm, good call on the sport package having that as an option. I googled it and am finding some info where a review mentions the aluminum trim. I was just worried that someone had put that there with some cheap ebay kit or something. I may have to drive 6 hours to check it out and possibly buy it. He says he has all receipts from the day it left the dealership and some things have been replaced already, including the under blower heater hose, so that's awesome. It has 132k and the maintenance records and he's only asking $4k with some negotiating possible so that made me a little concerned, but it may be worth rolling the dice on assuming there aren't chips of paint missing, lots of dings, etc. I'm looking for a good weekend car to take out on dates and stuff and it's between an STR, XJR, or just a badass supercharged AMG E55, S55, or CL55, which any of those are going to be about triple what he's asking.
