I have an 03 STR with 50K miles. Since new I have had issues with the suspense, it bottoms out when hitting pot holes ruining the tire and bending the rims. it just seems too soft. Anyone else experience this? Has anyone ever replaced the Shocks in an S Type R? Anyone every Replaced the shocks with a non CATS after market like a BilStein? If so what has been your experience?

How fast are you hitting pot holes that you reach full compression on the suspension? You may want to look at the tires you are running as a starting point. I've run various cars with profiles as low as 35's without an issue. I live in the rust belt of Ohio, so I am familiar with potholes. Look for a tire with a higher load rating than the car requires. This will get you a tire that is more able to handle impacts without damage. And it will be a lot cheaper than trying to modify an already good suspension.
